CEO Pay Barone Blog

Murray cites the egregious cases of ousted CEOs’ golden handshakes: $44 million for Morgan Stanley CEO Philip Purcell, $21 million for Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina. He also takes a thoughtful look at Home Depot CEO Robert Nardelli’s $27 million 2005 take—more, it seems than the man who beat him for the General Electric CEO post, Jeff Immelt, and more than the CEO of Home Depot’s competitor Lowe’s, even though Lowe’s stock price has risen and Home Depot’s hasn’t.

Although this one doesn’t directly mention healthcare, it is one of my pet peeves as well. The tendency for corporate CEOS (including those in Health care) to take home millions while their companies flounder and their customers rage seems epidemic. I wrote about this in my local newspaper when I was writing for them regularly a few years back.

Sheetal Sheth pressured to get Breast Augmentation

Sheetal Sheth reports that Hollywood is pressuring her into having breast augmentation. She’s bit on the thin side, so if she has the surgery, she might want to take it easy on the sizing.

Hollywood Lip Injections at Hollywood Rag

The “Trout Pout” is a recurring subject of wonder, scorn and debate . I like less filler and no pout, but I am in the minority. Smaller fills don’t last as long, but lack the domestic violence look. It’s a trade-off.

Body Dysmorphic Disorder in UK Models

The illness, which has been compared to eating disorders such as bulimia, usually starts in adolescence but remains largely unnoticed. Many sufferers can remain undiagnosed for years, often resorting to endless cosmetic treatments in a futile attempt to fix their “problem”.

Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) affects the most unlikely people in this case a beauty queen. It is not common in my practice, but these patients do seek cosmetic surgery many times when they have little to gain by doing so. These patients can also fail to appreciate change which makes them poor cosmetic surgery clients.

My practice doesn’t seem to attract these people for which I am grateful.

A Not Long Enough Inside Look Into Thread Lift

CBS TV Story

These new contour thread lifts are being promoted as a face lift without a face lift. We really don’t have long term information on how these patients do over time. This Charlottesville television station followed a patient who seems happy at six weeks.

I’d like to know how she looks at six years.
