Jane Fonda On Plastic Surgery

Star Pulse

Fonda admits she is the last person who should lecture on cosmetic surgery, having gone under the knife herself.

She says, “I have had plastic surgery in the past, but I don’t want to do it anymore. I get so disturbed when I come out here (Los Angeles), and I see everybody kind of looking alike.

“We’ve got to show young girls that you can grow old and still live and have sex, and be erotic, and have fun – and have wrinkles.”

Honestly after her activism against our soldiers in the Vietnam War (that’s all it ever can be to me when you hang out with the enemy,) I really have a hard time caring about her.

The one salient point here is that plastic surgery ceases to be beneficial upon too much repetition. By the looks of things, Ms Fonda has had quite a bit.

Heidi Montag Breast Implants – First Operation

2007 Heidi Montag Breast Implants

The Hill’s star Heidi Montag went for breast implants and it looks like she stayed within a reasonable size range. Thin gals can look good with breast implants if they stay within a moderate target size range.

It’s nice to see good plastic surgery for a change. [This was her first breast implant operation in 2007]

Bad Plastic Surgery – Celebs

When you see “Bad Plastic Surgery” touted on the web, it usually means (at least) one of a few things:

(1) Someone had too much surgery and there is more scar than person left. (Most of the time)

(2) Someone who was not the greatest candidate for surgery had it anyway or the surgeon was weak or put in a poor effort.

(3) A freak mishap occurred even though all was done correctly.

(4) The person pictured was simply caught at a bad angle.

Britney Spears Weight Loss Saga

Britney Spears has by all appearances lost a good deal of weight. Speculation is that cosmetic surgery might be involved.

The majority of patients do not lose weight after cosmetic surgery however. Surgery is an option in fine tuning when the weight loss is over. Consider it body work. Britney’s weight loss is more likely due to diet and exercise. Good for her.

Botched Liposuction?

Source: cityrag.blogs.com/main/2007/04/celebrity_lipos.html

CityRag and Awfulplastic surgery.com blog about tummy liposuction and poor results. I am not sure of all of the treatments these women have had. If they have had liposuction, there are a few questions of note for each woman:

(1) Was her weight stable at the time of the surgery? I ask my liposuction patients to have surgery when they do not plan on large weight gain or loss (usually around 15-20 pounds) afterward. Weight change after liposuction can introduce contour irregularities that look like those we see in our image.

(2) Was there excess skin in the areas treated with liposuction at the time of surgery? If so, a tummy tuck would have been the better choice. Of course big cigarette smokers do poorly with tummy tuck surgery. They don’t heal so well (even with liposuction). I believe all of these women smoke.

Liposuction only addresses fat. It requires that the skin over the fat is elastic and pretty tight. Loose skin over liposuction-treated areas can look ripply like we see in our image. Of course “over suctioning” could contribute to the problems we see in our image as well. Yes, believe it or not you can “take too much fat” with liposuction and make problems especially with weight change later. Liposuction is not the “do all” of plastic surgery. That’s why it is best to see a good honest plastic surgeon for an opinion before you jump toward surgery that may not be the best thing for you.

Courtney Love is "Anti plastic surgery?"

“I don’t need plastic in my body to validate me as a woman.”

This statement has to do with motivation. It was quoted as an anti-plastic surgery statement by some in the media. She has had a fair amount of plastic surgery to be anti-surgery.
