US only Number 6 In World in Plastic Surgery Usage

Despite the fact that the US takes a fair amount of grief for its excesses in plastic surgery, according to yet another plastic surgery society’s statistics, the United States is only number 6:

Nips and tucks are on the rise seemingly everywhere. While the U.S. is notorious for its beauty-obsessed culture, the country doesn’t take the top plastic surgery spot in the world by percentage of population. That medal goes to South Korea, according to 2010 data reported by the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.

According to this report, the top nations for plastic surgery per capita are:

#1 — South Korea
#2 — Greece [ austerity measures :) ]
#3 — Italy
#4 — Brazil
#5 — Colombia
#6 — USA
#7 — Taiwan

The Greek statistic is a bit surprising considering the country has been going down the tubes financially for quite a while.
