Can breast implants freeze at ‘extreme’ temperatures?
Obviously the silicone of breast implants is hardy but should they be exposed to extreme temperatures, how would they react?Dr D’s Answer:
At a temperature extreme enough to make them change, the lady would be frozen solid or cooked. This is not an issue for the patient. You can of course take an implant and put it in the freezer or the oven and freeze or cook it. The silicone version would probably weather this better than the saline-filled type.
