Good Plastic Surgery in the OC – Satisfying Facial Dog Bite Surgery

I met “S” in the emergency department of an Orange County hospital I no longer serve. She had been bitten on the lip by a large dog and incurred a fairly nasty wound. The dog bite repair here wound was a careful cleaning, trimming and closure by yours truly in the emergency department under local anesthesia. Unlike the majority of emergency patients with poor insurance coverage, this woman paid her bill slowly over about a year in payments.
She had a very nice outcome. It is too bad I can’t afford to do more of these, but they pay poorly even when insured and most patients are not as honorable as this one was. Good plastic surgery is not always cosmetic although cosmetic surgery pays most of our bills.

Weight Loss Tummy Tuck – Orange County, Ca

Weight loss tummy tuck surgery is tummy tuck surgery after significant weight loss. Here we have Before & After images of the oldest patient for whom I have ever performed abdominoplasty. She was 73 at the time of her tummy tuck, but a very healthy 73. She had of her own accord lost some 65 pounds and wanted her “fat apron” lifted from her tummy. After her internist cleared her for surgery, we went ahead.
She recovered well and quickly after her surgery and was pleased with her outcome. This weight loss tummy tuck resulted in a loss of a few pounds. The patient had lost the majority of her weight beforehand. This is the way it usually works out. These operations are “cleanup” for the effects of large scale weight loss most often.

Good (but Ugly) Plastic Surgery in the OC – Good Skin Graft

“Not all plastic surgery is cosmetic surgery, but cosmetic surgery pays the bills.” This is a plastic surgery truism. There are plastic surgeons (like me!) who split their work between the things you need (that don’t pay your surgeon so well) and the things you want (that do.) In this sense cosmetic surgery is the subsidy upon which the needed (but less well reimbursed) work is supported.
Here is an ugly plastic surgery case of an ankle wound that needed some skin to close. The patient had had an operation by an orthopedist that got complicated. The skin graft surgery will leave a scar, but the wound that would have healed slowly if at all without it healed quickly afterward. This is an aspect of good plastic surgery rarely featured on your local news program.
Something to think about when you are considering cosmetic plastic surgery:
If you support a reconstructive plastic surgeon, he may be able to stay in business to be able to help you when you might need him. That cosmetic guy won’t be.

Good Liposuction Results – Woman Minus Baby Weight

Good liposuction results are nice smooth contours in the right client. Here is a young OC mom who wanted to get a few post-baby areas trimmed.
Good Liposuction Results
She works out several times a week and is not fat by any means, but had some small problem areas that would not get better with exercise. Her biggest problem area was her tummy bulge and part of that was fatty. Here she is in the image before and 6 weeks after tumescent tummy liposuction with a nice result. Remember liposuction just trims the fat, but doesn’t do much to the skin or muscle wall. This is a good liposuction result showing not lumps or surface irregularities.

Good Tummy Tuck Results Orange County California
Years ago I did some work for a great looking 40 year old mom who worked out incessantly and had a great athletic body. Despite the working out though, her tummy had some changes from her pregnancy years before and her breasts were a bit small and droopy for her tastes. After a few years and two operations (Breast lift/implants and a tummy tuck,) she sent me this bikini image with a thank-you note.
Plastic surgery can work out well when done properly in the right patient. These are good tummy tuck results, but in reality all plastic surgery results vary. Only few patients get this kind of “knock it out of the park” result. They tend to be the people who are already in great shape. There is no overemphasizing doing your part.
Diet and exercise make you a better candidate for surgery anyway.

Clean Smile Line Filler – Orange County California

Here is a smile line filler case before and 2 weeks later from my Orange County practice. The anatomic areas treated were the Nasolabial folds and Marionette lines. Not all smile line filler results need to be scary. We used a hyaluronic acid based product.
The biggest problems with filler cases tend to revolve around the large amounts of filler that some practitioner place. Moderation leads to more natural results here. You might not get all your linbes corrected but you will look human when you leave. We look at this as a reasonable trade off.

Nice Scar Revision – Orange County California

Scar revision is a type of surgery to improve scars. Advertising makes the treatment of scars very confusing. There are thousands of products with packaging promising anything and everything. Most people with disfiguring scars know most of these products offer little help.
Some scars can be improved with surgery however: scar revision surgery. Here’s an example of a scar revision case from my Orange County Practice:
Scar revision does not help all scars but rather scars that are wide or pigmented. In small cases, the surgery can be done in the office under local anesthesia only (numbing shots.) This brings the cost down. This doesn’t make it cheap, but makes it less expensive. Lasers are usually not used in scar revision surgery as they are not of proven benefit. Lasers do increase the cost however.

Good Thigh Lift Results
can be yours if you are the proper candidate and you have quality surgery.
The operation is designed to correct loose fatty skin along the inside of the thighs. As I have previously posted images of such operations in which things did not turn out well, here is an example of the other side of the coin.
This pretty forty something was in good shape, but had gained and lost a good deal of weight around the time of her pregnancies years prior. The result was that her inner thighs kind of touched and when she ran she felt them swinging around and slapping one another at times. The skin was loose and wrinkles were apparent. She found this inconsistent with her self-image and wanted it corrected.
A year after thigh lift surgery (upper right in the image) the problem was greatly improved (good thigh lift results.) In cases like hers the scar can be carefully hidden in the groin crease. Larger cases (such as after gastric bypass) with more loose skin can require extended incisions.

I feel so thankful I had to share. I chose him because after that first meeting,I knew he would do whatever he could to make it happen for me. Dr D is simply the best plastic surgeon out there for labiaplasty (and probably a lot of other stuff.) I agonized over the decision to have surgery after reading the forums. Some women have had halloween results. They made me cry. I saw a few doctors and some scared me even more. Creepers! Then there was Dr D!
