Good Tummy Tuck Results : In an Athlete
Posted by admin in "Good Plastic Surgery in the OC", Dr D's Patients on January 28, 2013
Good tummy tuck results in an athlete can be difficult. The surgery needs to be carefully modified and proscribed specifically in very fit clients. Below is a “Before & After” of an athletic woman who could not lose the loose “pudge” in her tummy. The portion of this extra flab near the panty has been called mother’s apron. The medical term is pannus. This patient did not have a very loose or prominent pannus, but was bothered by it. Although she was quite fit, she came wondering whether an “athlete tummy tuck” might be beneficial.

Upon examination, a belly button hernia was also found with a lot of muscular wall thinning nearby. This was likely a derivative of child bearing. A tummy tuck with abdominal hernia repair was performed and at 5 months she was pleased.

Good tummy tuck results
are the result of well performed surgery in the proper candidate:
“T” had been bothered by her tummy since the birth of her last child. She had some loose skin but not a prominent fat apron. A small belly button hernia was present with a good deal of thinning of the abdominal muscular envelope. A tummy tuck and abdominal hernia repair was performed and at 4 months she was very happy and that translates to good tummy tuck results.

Reader Question: Military Discount Tummy Tuck
Posted by admin in Military plastic surgery, Reader Question on August 25, 2011
I am 32 yrs old and I am a military wife and currently we are stationed here in North Carolina, my home town is Riverside California. I am writing you because I’ve seen your amazing work; for about five yrs I’ve been trying to get rid of my mother apron and nothing has work not even exercise. And I have been thinking a lot about getting a tummy tuck and when I saw your before and after pictures of your patients, like I said I was pretty amazed. I talked with my husband about this procedure and he is very supportive of it since we are not having anymore children. I have one daughter and she will be five this September. I would like to have this procedure done and would like to see about getting it done with you; and if I have it done I will be staying with my parents in Riverside CA for recovery and for my follow-up. Do you have special pricing for this procedure for military families? Please contact me anytime.
I appreciate the kind words and do discount my cosmetic surgery fees for active military patients and their wives. These discounts are from my usual rates. I am still not the cheap guy. You would need to stay local for a week at least which sounds like would be do-able in your case.
While I would be happy to see you, I may not be so cheap relative to the rate you might be able to get in the State in which you reside. Plastic surgery rates vary by State and locale. You may wish to send some images for a ballpark quotation.
