Today Show Video – link expired and removed
Tara Reid was out promoting her celebrity by talking about her plastic surgery nightmare again. The video clips were removed because they expired. We are probably all better off anyway. Alternate Tara Reid goodness is below.

Tara Reid Interview in People and Plastic Surgery

Tara Reid bemoans her “body image/lipo dents” fame in People magazine. It is true that she is one of the most famous “Plastic Surgery Poor Outcomes” Celebrities. That is a good thing as her continued presence in the blogs and magazines provides the buzz upon which she makes a living producing independent films and working on her first clothing line, etc. Her actual acting has been limited as of late.
She has improved upon her abdominal dents as recent images show. Her backside is another story. It would be interesting to know what surgery may have occurred back there.

Tara Reid – Booty Slide?

Ouch, this pic from DSF (link above) shows that Tara’s backside has incurred a nasty “slide” of sorts.
Back to the:
The Morals of Lipo:
(*) Smoking throws a monkey wrench into how you might heal.
(*) If you have loose skin liposuction will not correct it. It pretty much treats fat and the skin only to a very modest extent.
Her skin tone is not so great for lipo to work well. I really wonder who did it and how much it has been repeated. How she looked at the time it was done would be important to know as well.

Tara Reid – Lessons in Liposuction
Posted by admin in liposuction pre-op tutorial on October 21, 2008
Tara Reid’s upper tummy has been pictured on every blog under the sun as an example of “lipo gone bad.” The pics in the link above show that that tummy looks better now. I’d bet that she’s gained a little weight.
The Morals of this Lipo Story:
(1) Have your liposuction when you have fat to remove (Tara has been kinda thin for the most part.)
(2) Have your weight stable before surgery. Losing or gaining much afterward can make things look funky.
(3) Smoking throws a monkey wrench into how you might heal.
(4) If you have loose skin liposuction will not correct it. It pretty much treats fat and only skin to a very modest extent.

More Tara Reid pictures focus on her breasts. Big surprise on the blogs. This time they get sorted out by someone other than yours truly. And “NO” I didn’t do her second operation.

Botched Liposuction?

CityRag and Awfulplastic surgery.com blog about tummy liposuction and poor results. I am not sure of all of the treatments these women have had. If they have had liposuction, there are a few questions of note for each woman:
(1) Was her weight stable at the time of the surgery? I ask my liposuction patients to have surgery when they do not plan on large weight gain or loss (usually around 15-20 pounds) afterward. Weight change after liposuction can introduce contour irregularities that look like those we see in our image.
(2) Was there excess skin in the areas treated with liposuction at the time of surgery? If so, a tummy tuck would have been the better choice. Of course big cigarette smokers do poorly with tummy tuck surgery. They don’t heal so well (even with liposuction). I believe all of these women smoke.
Liposuction only addresses fat. It requires that the skin over the fat is elastic and pretty tight. Loose skin over liposuction-treated areas can look ripply like we see in our image. Of course “over suctioning” could contribute to the problems we see in our image as well. Yes, believe it or not you can “take too much fat” with liposuction and make problems especially with weight change later. Liposuction is not the “do all” of plastic surgery. That’s why it is best to see a good honest plastic surgeon for an opinion before you jump toward surgery that may not be the best thing for you.

Tara Reid Opens Up to US Weekly?
Posted by admin in celebrity plastic surgery on October 11, 2006
In Us Weekly, Tara points the finger at her original plastic surgeon admitting to liposuction and breast implant surgery as well as a recent re-operation. This is pretty typical. While I do not know what she looked like pre-op or what instruction she was given prior to surgery, my understanding is that she smokes. Cigarette smoking can really screw up wound healing in breast implant and liposuction surgery. If she came to the office smelling like cigarettes, I would likely have passed on operating on her.
From the article:
On what went wrong:
“First of all, I asked for big Bs, and he did not give me big Bs. He gave me Cs, and I didn’t want them. At all. Right after the surgery, I had some bumps along the edges of my nipples, but the doctor said, ‘Don’t worry, it’s going to be better.’ But after six months of ‘it’s going to get better,’ it started to get worse and worse.”
Modified breast lifts (I believe that she had one) do cause ripples at the border of the areola where we have seen distortion in her nipple slip images. These ripples usually improve with time. If she started developing implant scarring (capsular contracture), then the appearance of the breasts very well could have become progressively worse. The modified lift might not have been enough to fix the problem and/or the cigarette smoking could have encouraged poor wound healing or the contracture.
When she asked for “Big B’s,” what did her surgeon say? Targeting exact size in breast implant surgery can be difficult particularly with modified lifts. I do not know what understanding she had with her original surgeon, the particulars of his/her technique or her follow-up.
I hope she stays off the cigarettes and follows her surgeon’s advise on this recent re-operation. I guess we’ll probably see the results at the next nipple slip.

Tara Reid Downsizes Breast Implants

Tara Reid apparently is downsizing…her breast implants. I’ll bet a redo of her lift comes with this. Hopefully she will lay of the cigarettes or we might get a replay of last time’s outcome.

Cityrag tags Tara Reid here with undeniable Before and After Breast Enhancement images. She has long since slipped up to show her nipples enough times (all within view of the trusty paparazzi) that her admission is not all that surprising.
